1975 President Chiang Kai-shek dies, and Vice President Yen Chia-kan takes over as ROC president. Chiang Ching-kuo takes over as the chairman of the KMT.

The body of President Chiang Kai-shek is moved to Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, where it is on display for public viewing. On April 16, the body is moved to his residence in Cihu,   Taoyuan.

1975.07.01 Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall preparatory committee is established
1975.07.02 A piece of land in the Yingbian area of Taipei is chosen for the memorial hall
1975.08.02 The Bank of Taiwan and Chunghwa Post (Taiwan's postal service) start to accept donations
